Raindrop and shingles

I have a good news report following a Raindrop therapy treatment by some good friends. Using first names here, my good friend, Gene, was soon to start a 5 week long medical treatment, and he was wise to want to get his body strengthen in advance. So, the week before his medical treatment was to begin, I assisted his wife in showing her the technique for giving her husband Raindrop. It's very easy and gentle, but also very, effective essential oil therapy.  7 single essential oils and two essential oil blends are dropped, layered and gently stroked on the back along the spine.  Click here for a discussion and info on Raindrop therapy. I traveled to Arizona to learn this technique from D.Gary Young, N.D., the founder of YoungLivingEssentialOils. It was awesome hearing and and seeing Dr. Young teach this technique.

Dr. Young incorporated in the Raindrop Technique a 'feathering up the spine' of the oils which he learned from a Lakota Indian. It about energy and any essential oils have high frequency energy.

Little did anyone know, that a week later Gene was diagnosed with a case of shingles after he'd began his other treatment series.  Now, here's the good news. Shingles is painful when broken out. Gene got medical treatment for his shingles when he was diagnosed,  but the amazing thing he tells me is his doctor and nurses say they're amazed that his shingles break out is practically drying up before they even started to erupt. They've never seen anything like it.

It's the oils. This is not a promise essential oils will cure or prevent any condition. I'm just reporting my friend has a favorable experience with them and is doing quite well considering all he has going on right now.  And for anyone using essential oils, use with great care and caution, as these substances are highly concentrated and if used improperly, can cause harm, and I wouldn't want that to happen. Seek professional help with them so you have a favorable experience using them.

Update Jan 16, 2011 Gene continues his medical treatments and I think from stress he's had a shingles flair-up a couple days ago. He didn't have much pain, but shingles is a condition affecting the nerves. His wife says she could see he acted nervous.  Last night his wife mixed together four essential oils lavender, geranium, tea tree, and thyme, 10 drops each and applied to his outbreak sores.  She proudly reported her husband immediately said he felt more relax and he also slept exceptionally well last night. He said he wished he had had that applied from the beginning of his flair up.
So, again essential oils are well received.  Shining oil gems. I can't imagine being without.

Essential oils are a precious commodity like shiny gems

Is perfume fragrance good for your health?

I'm like every woman. I enjoy pleasant fragrances and beautiful scents. They make life more pleasurable . But there is a down side to using man-made fragrances, even if they're well known names and brands. These perfume chemicals can be irritating, and even toxic and aren't necessarily good for your health or brain.
Let me introduce you to beautiful fragrances that will please your nose and be pleasant to your health. These fragrances are organic and thus don't have the adverse affects on your health which synthetic, man-made chemical scents can have.
We need to reduce synthetic chemicals in all areas of life, and changing to using great organic perfumes and colognes is one very nice way to do that.
I recommend two sources - YoungLiving for quality essential oils and aromatherapy, and my Amazon OrganicBeautyShop. to get scented without the chemicals you can do without.

Find yourself some nice fragrances and be happy. These are some nice 'gems'. I like to smell nice and I'm pleased without the chemicals I don't need in my life.

Four ways to a smaller waist

I was looking at fashions from the 60's and 70's and the waist of dresses back then were so small. What's happened in four to five decades?  Have people gotten to be giants or what? The only people with waists that small today are models, who don't reflect the norm of the general population. The increase in the girth of our midsections, I think stems from four areas:

 1.  Larger food portions- we're consuming more food at each meal. (Say supersize!)

 2.  Eating dinner in restaurants-we're dining out more often than in the 60s and 70s'

 3.  Less physically active- we're sitting more and biking, and walking less.

 4.  More processed food and food additives are available-these all have a
negative effect upon waist measurements. Click here for list of additives safe for
consumption; list of non-toxic food additives; additives to cut back on; and additives
to avoid due to health risks. Click here to a view a good food additive slide show .

What can a person do about this, and get back a smaller waistline? Simple. Eat smaller portions at mealtime.  Prepare meals at home so you have a better idea of what you're eating and can be more in control of the butter, cream, fat, milk, sodium that's added when cooking.  And increase daily physical activity. It's all common sense. And it's was the way life was forty-fifty years ago, and I think why they had smaller waist lines.

Four more tips for a healthy mouth

This is a continuation of more effective tips that will help keep bacteria from reeking havoc inside your mouth and costing you time and having to fork over money for dental visits to correct the damage bacteria has caused your teeth and gums. Save yourself this grief.   Take action to these few tips using very inexpensive products and save yourself some money and it's good for overall health, too. Teach your kids good dental habits and they might have less cavities and dental problems, as well.

1.  Floss. Do it twice a day at least.  Flossing removes food lodged between teeth. If left there, bacteria starts.
2. Swish some hydrogen peroxide in your mouth. You can dilute 1:1 with water, but you don't have to. It's not a bad taste, just not good tasty taste. It does fizz, so half to one ounce, is all you need, swish 10-15 seconds, then spit it out.
3. Use a water pick or water-flosser for getting under the gum line. This is almost a must have. This product is great- you might put your dentist out of business. (just kidding)
4. Brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and you're done.

Good oral care is important for good health

Bonus tips: The water pick or water-flosser will be the most expensive item, but well worth investing in for yourself and family.  Using water, it dislodges plaque from beneath the gum line.  The floss, hydrogen peroxide and toothpaste are very inexpensive items.  The trick to get good oral health benefits is to use them at least twice daily, every day.   This will help your general health, your heart, your breath, and your teeth will brighten a few shades from the hydrogen peroxide. And I do recommend a new toothbrush after a cold or flu or every 4-6 months. In between like to soak my toothbrush in Thieves® ( a blend of essential oils) to keep germs and make my toothbrush taste yummy.  Keep clean whatever you place in your mouth.

Extra bonus tip: Close toilet lid before flushing to keep toilet water particles gone airborne when flushing occurs from landing on your toothbrush and/or other surfaces near the toilet. Close the toilet lid!

You're finished. Now, flash those pearly whites.     These are gems, Jerry, good health gems!

Where to find products?
Find hydrogen peroxide where you buy personal care items where you shop, or a drugstore.
Get your toothbrush, water pick or water-flosser on my Mouth Health store on my shopping page on my website, NaturalToBeHealthy.
Shop for dental floss and essential oils here.  And visit my posting,"5 tips to stop mouth bacteria".

Candles in the store

I was in a store yesterday and walked past the candles in one of the store isles. It smelt nice so I stopped and took a closer look.  The candles were either made in China, or India or Vietnam. Nothing wrong with that. But what was wrong was there was no labeling stating what was in the candles. Since I didn't see anything saying soy, then I had to assume they were made with paraffin wax. I didn't see any beeswax on the labels, either. Beeswax candles don't drip when burned.
I have read that you can tell if the wick has lead, and they have come from candles from China, so beware, but this is how you can tell if you have any candles with lead wicks. Before burning, take a piece of white paper and rub the paper over the top of the wick. If you see a grayish mark on the paper, then it's got some lead in the wick. It's best not to burn that candle.

Soy candles burn evenly, so there's no tunneling when burning, they burn slower and longer, and are bio-degradable, non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. So in my opinion, the better candle to burn are soy candles, then second best are beeswax candles with cotton/paper wicks. Leave candles with lead wicks alone.

See my candle store on my website for all kinds of safe soy candles to burn. I understand men like candles, too.

Relax with soy candles that don't harm

If you're going to burn candles in your home to create a relaxing mood,  burn natural soy candles to minimize possible carcinogens from burning paraffin candles or lead wicked candles.

Burning natural soy candles are healthier

Make sure it's 100% soy and not a soy blend. Soy candles burn cooler and slower than paraffin candles, so they last longer. Soy is also non-toxic and made from a plant source.  Changing to soy candles one small but profound thing you can do to keep toxins from your lungs at home when you want to relax and wind down. So create a relaxing mood with candles to help unwind and relax after a long hectic day, but don't harm your lungs while you're at it.  When you breathe toxins into your lungs, the toxins travel throughout your blood and circulates to all parts of your body- that includes your brain. Think about it. So check out my shopping page, then 'click' on the Candle Store to find soy candles of all sorts.

That's a gem, Jerry, a real gem!

Floss to save heart and extend life

Floss twice a day - simple to do, but a profound affect upon your health. I happened to see the "Doctors" television show Friday last week and one of the things brought up was what you can do twice a day that could possibly extend your life by six years and save your heart as well.  It's flossing your teeth.  Imagine that.  Just keeping your mouth clean and flossing gets the bacteria from between your teeth thus reducing the bacteria entering into your bloodstream and not attack your heart possibly causing stroke or heart attack.

From the mouth a direct connection to the blood and to the heart

On my post,  '5 tips to stop mouth bacteria' explain more and you can check products to help your oral hygiene be in tip top condition which will do so much for your health. Get your young children in the habit of flossing.  Make it a fun game to do as a family. Make it cool to floss.  It just might be one of the most important things to help your health as well as your breath, your teeth, your gums, your overall general well being. And all that just might save you some serious bucks later at the dentist's office.

Flossing takes just a minute, a few minutes at the most. It won't kill your day.

I like to use the floss from YoungLivingEssentialOils because it's saturated with Thieves'® essential oil. So when you floss, you remove pieces of food between the teeth as well as treat your gums and space between teeth with Thieves'®, which fights bacteria in the mouth as well and make your breath nice. It's a win, win, win, win!  Economical, fast and easy. Just the way we all like it. Then rinse some mouthwash and finish the good thing you've just done, from this essential oil merchant or check the link below.

And through Christmas, you can get free gifts from this merchant for some great oral health products as well.

This is a real health gem, Jerry, a gem!
